Our clinic is an integrative medical collective based in Boulder, Colorado, where MDs/DOs and Naturopathic Doctors collaborate to provide truly comprehensive care under one roof.
We work in close partnership with prescribing providers to ensure that patients receive safe, coordinated, and well-rounded treatment plans. Our Naturopathic Doctors collaborate seamlessly within this model, allowing for a thoughtful integration of conventional and holistic approaches.
We further collaborate with conventional medical specialists throughout the region to ensure our patients benefit from the highest standards of care and best clinical practices. In addition, we maintain strong relationships with a network of trusted complementary providers—including acupuncturists, nutritionists, chiropractors, mental health professionals, biofeedback specialists, physical therapists, and massage therapists—each highly trained in their respective fields. This collaborative network allows us to address the full spectrum of patient health.
Our Naturopathic Doctors are graduates of accredited postdoctoral naturopathic medical programs. Dr. Steve and Dr. Kelly Parcell have also completed clinical internships alongside medical doctors following their naturopathic training and are recognized for their expertise in their respective specialties.
Our Naturopathic Philosophy

Every person has their own unique medical history childhood exposures, eating habits and genetic tendencies. It is our job to find the underlying cause of your medical complaints and concerns. We work with you to develop a personalized treatment plan that will offer the greatest benefit within your budget. By addressing the underlying cause of disease, we can optimize health, extend your “health span” and help you avert expensive medical procedures and illnesses. Your benefit is disease prevention and peace of mind. We will spend the time it takes to answer all your questions and develop a detailed, long-term treatment plan that addresses all your health concerns.
The Healing Power of Nature (Vis Medicatrix Naturae) Naturopathic medicine recognizes an inherent self-healing process in people that is ordered and intelligent. Naturopathic physicians act to identify and remove obstacles to healing and recovery, and to facilitate and augment this inherent sel f-healing process.
Identify and Treat the Causes (Tolle Causam) The naturopathic physician seeks to identify and remove the underlying causes of illness rather than to merely eliminate or suppress symptoms.
First Do No Harm (Primum Non Nocere) Naturopathic physicians follow three guidelines to avoid harming the patient:
- Utilize methods and medicinal substances which minimize the risk of harmful side effects, using the least force necessary to diagnose and treat;
- Avoid when possible the harmful suppression of symptoms; and
- Acknowledge, respect, and work with individuals’ self-healing process.
Doctor as Teacher (Docere) Naturopathic physicians educate their patients and encourage self-responsibility for health. They also recognize and employ the therapeutic potential of the doctor-patient relationship.
Treat the Whole Person Naturopathic physicians treat each patient by taking into account individual physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental, social, and other factors. Since total health also includes spiritual health, naturopathic physicians encourage individuals to pursue their personal spiritual development.
Prevention Naturopathic physicians emphasize the prevention of disease by assessing risk factors, heredity and susceptibility to disease, and by making appropriate interventions in partnership with their patients to prevent illness.
What Makes NatureMed Unique?
We “bridge the gap” between conventional and alternative medicine. We are experts in naturopathic, alternative, functional, complementary, integrative and holistic medicine. This training and experience allows us to provide the best of both worlds. We take a team approach with the other medical providers to give comprehensive care. We brought this model to the Boulder community in 2005 and have created a space where patients can experience quality, personalized integrative care.
