Stephen W. Parcell, N.D. earned his doctorate in naturopahtic medicine in 2002 from Bastyr University. Prior to this he completed premed work at the University of Vermont in 1997. He also has a bachelor of Arts from New England College which he received in 1986.


Dr. Parcell has done additional training at the American College for the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM), the American Academy of Environmental Medicine (AAEM) and is certified in chelation therapy. He has also completed the Autism Research Institute’s physician training program and is a certified Defeat Autism Now (DAN) practitioner. He is the past vice president of the Colorado Association of Naturopathic Physicians (CANP).


Dr. Parcell has a strong background in medical research and is an expert in “evidence-based natural medicine.” Dr. Parcell has worked at the American Institute for Biosocial and Medical Research and has co-authored National Institutes of Health (NIH) research grant proposals for Bastyr University.


He has published articles in Alternative Medicine Review, The International Journal of Integrative Medicine, Integrated Medicine, a Clinician’s Journal and Naturopathic news and Review. He also authored a chapter in the textbook entitled “Integrative Approaches to Pain” to be published by Humana Press in March of 2008.

He is currently writing a book on reversing coronary artery disease.

Dr. Parcell has a great interest in heart disease prevention, reversing heart disease and I enjoy working with athletes. “Dr. Steve”, as he is called by many of his patients, is an acitive compeditor in the masters cross country skiing curcuit and is currently training for his first trail marathon. He is also an avid cyclist and likes to hike in the Rocky mountains that surround his home in the Boulder foothills.


After completing a two year internship at the Bastyr Center for Natural Health in Seattle, Dr. Parcell completed a two-year residency in advanced longevity medicine with anti-aging specialist Dr. Terry Grossman, M.D..
